For over 25 years, I have been working as a consultant with a clear management accounting focus or, as one would have simply said in the past, ‘in CO’ for companies in various industries on the design, implementation and optimisation of SAP ECC and S/4 HANA. In doing so, I combine technical expertise with a keen understanding of business contexts in order to provide customers with system-based, management-relevant information.

My range of services covers the entire process chain – from as-is analysis and functional and technical design to customising, test management, training, go-live and support.

To look beyond CO, I have in-depth integration knowledge of the interfaces and interactions between the Controlling module and the other modules of the SAP system. In addition to the interaction between external and internal accounting – as you know, both sides are moving closer together in S/4 HANA thanks to the ‘Universal Journal’ – this also includes, in particular, the integrative relationships between CO and the various logistics modules.

Broad technical expertise complements these content-related aspects. Examples of this include ABAP programming skills, knowledge of the relevant reporting tools (drilldown reporting, Report Painter, Report Writer, Query, FIORI Apps) and experience in using the Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) for numerous applications.

From a methodological point of view, a professional approach based on strong analytical skills and a systematic, structured way of working – often supported by mind maps – can be assumed. I consider perseverance and persistence in dealing with problems, conceptual (lateral) thinking and flexibility to be an essential personal contribution to successful collaboration. Last but not least, humility and modesty are essential consultant qualifications for me, because in every new assignment you start from scratch and first have to gain the acceptance and trust of the client.
